Last
month the lesson was on picking faster using a The
forward Roll (215) . This month,
let's explore the forward roll in a little more detail. The
pointer finger can be used to pick out notes while using this
roll. One way to learn this is to use a 315215 exercise
where the pointer finger picks the 3rd and 2nd string. I
have prepared a DVD showing this technique and many other helpful
processes. Watch the clips from my DVD and you will be able
to see how this exercise works. To

so that you can expose yourself to all different styles.
Somewhere in the middle of all of that material will be your
style. This is true for every instrument.

The
Warren Yates Method
is a simple technique of learning to play by ear.Songs can be broken down into segments that often
times are common to every song.By placing these segments together, we can create
longer sections which eventually become complete songs.By arranging them differently, we can create new
pieces of music more easily.
In
this video, you will learn many of the most common roles and
runs and how to use them; in addition to exercises that will
help you learn how to connect them with melody notes. Some
of the old standards are broken down so that you to can
reproduce them. Enclosed for your reference, is a chord
chart of the entire neck.
This
66 minuteDVD
was filmed at an old cabin and in a farm setting so that you
not only receive good, solid instruction, but is relaxing to
watch. Special guest, Doug Trivett plays guitar.
The new "Transcribe!" software
allows you to slow CDs down to a 1/2, even 1/4 speed, without
affecting the pitch. It will help you to understand what is
going on in the music. Download
